Ocean to the West.

Playa del Carmen is located in the
State of Quintana Roo, 60 km south of Cancún.
The State of Quintana Roo is located in southern Mexico in the Yucatan
peninsula. It is surrounded by the State of Campeche, the Caribbean sea
and Belize, and has a total area of 50.350km².
The capital city is Chetumal. Quintana Roo had around 493 600
inhabitants in 2000.
