A-301 ADVANCED LEVEL 1
Subjunctive mood: present, present perfect, imperfect and past perfect.
Uses and forms.
A-302 ADVANCED LEVEL 2
Review of all the uses of the subjunctive mood. Subjunctive versus
indicative and infinitive.
At the end of the advanced level, the student will be able to talk about
almost everything without problems and to make phone calls easily. He
will be able to express hypothetical ideas.
A-303 SUPERIOR LEVEL
Review of some difficult grammar points, study of some of the subtleties
of the language, differences between Spanish as spoken in Spain and in
Latin America, indigenisms, different levels of language. How to write
different kinds of letters.
The superior level student will learn to discuss, try to persuade,
express agreement or disagreement, discuss hypothetical situations. He
will be able to talk in an organized way of a great number of topics,
both concrete and abstract, even unfamiliar to him, without making
mistakes that could hinder his communication with native speakers.
B-101 BEGINNER LEVEL 1
Verb SER, negative and interrogative forms. Numbers, the alphabet,
syllabic division, accents. Adjectives, nouns (gender and number).
Definite and indefinite articles. Demonstrative adjectives. Question
words. ESTAR. SER vs ESTAR. Prepositions indicating location.
Demonstrative pronouns. HAY UN vs ESTA EL. Possessive adjectives. Verbs
TENER and VENIR.
B-102 BEGINNER LEVEL 2
Regular verbs ending in AR, ER, IR. Stem-changing verbs in AR, ER, IR
Direct object Indirect object. Direct and indirect object in the same
sentence. Irregular verbs. Personal and reflexive pronouns. Reflexive
pronouns, verbs like GUSTAR. Por and Para. Present progressive.
Possessive adjectives and pronouns. Future with IR + A + infinitive
construction. Present perfect. Preterite of regular and stem-changing
verbs.
At the end of the beginner level, the student will be able to make
simple but correct sentences, handle everyday life situations, such as
go shopping, ask information in travel agencies, banks, restaurants and
hotels
I-201 INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 1
Preterite tense of irregular verbs, progressive form of the preterite.
Indirect object.
Imperfect tense and uses of the imperfect. Imperfect progressive,
imperfect and preterite tenses in the same sentence. Comparative and
superlative forms. SE impersonal, and SE accidental.
I-102 INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 2
The past perfect. Verbs of information + imperfect and past perfect.
Future, future with IR + A + Inf, future to express probability, future
perfect. Conditional, conditional with IR + A + Inf, conditional to
express probability, conditional perfect. Command form. Subjunctive
mood, present tense. Introduction to some uses.
At the end of the intermediate level, the student will be able to use
all simple tenses of the indicative mood and some complex forms and
therefore will be able to handle a conversation on general topics. He
will be able to talk about past events, plans, express wishes, give
orders and advice.
O-501 – O-510 OPTIONAL COURSES
The optional classes are organized and managed by their respective
person in charge. They are held three times a week, from 10 to 1 and 5
to 8, depending on the type of classes and number of participants.
